ABOUT

Miss Bush foundations are in the 20th Century, the late 80s, when weddings were less complicated. Dresses were less fashionable, homemade was not kitsch & wedding photography was as much fun as a school photo. Our fiercely independent shop has evolved and grown into one of the most fashionable and well respected boutiques in the UK dressing brides from London & the South East as well as growing international clientele.

Despite our passion for cut & cloth, our expertise in fit and finish & our devotion to styling the first question is always "Who is Miss Bush?"

Miss Bush is a Ripley legend. A good time girl, fond of Port & Lemon, an unmarried Mother who stared down scandal in the 50s keeping her children. Miss Bush ran the eponymous sweet shop next to the most raucous of the 6 village pubs and gossip abounds. Was ever a woman better named? There is 'Carry On', seaside-postcard sauciness to the name Miss Bush. It's a double-entendre that never gets old. In a world of 'White-Somethings' it's irreverent, in an industry of very generic shops it's stand-out.

Art school & film graduate. Notorious blogger & tweeter. 20 years of buying bridal wear, working on the shop floor & writing about bridal style makes Emma something of a wedding-world celebrity. Emma also has vast experience in styling across all wedding disciplines so if you are already married to your Pinterest boards she could be the girl for you.
Corinne arrived at Miss Bush as a junior Saturday team member and is now the most senior & seasoned bridal consultant. Choose Corinne if you are in any way nervous about trying on dresses. Fondly nicknamed 'Senior Bush' Gen is one of the original founding members of staff from 1988. Taking the reins in 1992 Gen has worked tirelessly fitting, sewing & supervising the critical production side of Miss Bush. It is Gen & the team that are on hand when the mystery half stone vanishes a fortnight before your wedding. Gen wore vintage when it was simply the latest thing...
Fashion veteran, ex-English Eccentrics and famously featured in the original Dead or Alive video for 'You Spin Me...' Janet is calm, unflappable, oozing talent and just gorgeous. Janet is responsible for scheduling fitting appointments, coordinating seamstresses, fitting & is also an expert seamstress. Janet would be the person that undertakes most Jenny Packham alterations that require huge ability with bias cut & beaded dresses.
Ex-city girl & current bride to be, Leyla's remit was & is to improve our ongoing communication & customer service for our brides. In our busy shop our working day is taken up with appointments & our seamstresses fit, cut & sew. As the business has grown it has necessitated another point of contact, someone to make sure your swatch gets to you, to confirm orders, to fill in the time between ordering & delivery amongst a thousand other tasks. Uber-efficient, Leyla's job is to make sure the Grand-Dame of bridalwear stays ahead of the game.
